Chomper Checkup

This morning Jace had his very first check up at the dentist! We are so super blessed to have great doctors in our life! My dentist is just awesome and I cannot say enough amazing things about his staff. I knew that they would make this potentially scary first visit a breeze for my little guy. I was right!

Nicole was our hygienist. She was so great with Jace! She let him take chair rides to get comfy, pick out his favorite flavor of toothpaste, and even had special animal brush heads!! Jace chose a Zoey Zebra head and strawberry toothpaste. Nicole took her time explaining how everything worked and letting him check out all the equipment.

She counted his teeth (20 perfect little chompers.) And brushed his pearly whites.

After Jace got the thumbs up from Dr. B and a pat on the back for excellent brushing habits he got to pick 2 toys from the tooth toybox! Pam the office manager showed him how to play with the toys he picked...

...while the super sweet lady in the accounting office printed up this special certificate.

Then, as any good mommy would do, I took Jace straight to the doughnut shop to celebrate!! LOL!!! I realize that wasn't exactly the best treat for a great dentist visit, but he did so good I decided to just be a rebel.

Hot Wheels

Today I woke up a mommy on a mission. To  FINALLY go get Jace and I bikes. It's still hotter than heck here (103 this afternoon) but I know before we know it the weather will be perfect for bike rides. Jace has been dying for a big boy bike and I was supposed to get a bike back in January for my bday and never did. So I decided enough with the procrastination and off we went. He was so excited I could barely get the packaging off the bike before he was off and riding.

It took him about 2.5 seconds to figure it out and race down the block. The looks of concentration when he first got going were priceless though. =0)

We are waiting for it to cool down a bit this evening and will be taking our first mommy/son bike ride to the park. =0)

Just Can't Get Enough...

CAMPING!! The end of summer is going to be here before we know it, so Jace and I are taking every opportunity we get to go enjoy what's left of the season. Camping is definitely one of our favorite summer activities so when my friend Melissa invited us to Bass Lake we quickly packed up and hit the road. The weather, location, and company couldn't be beat!

There was lots of time at the lake...

                                                                                      Lots of playing...

                                                                                      Campfire fun...

And some close and personal visits from the locals (including an albino doe and a mama bear and her cub!)
It was a very short trip, but totally worth it!! Jace had an absolute blast and I successfully pulled off my first solo camping trip without a hitch (setting up tents and all!)

Our Cabin Getaway

This weekend we made a trip up to my Aunt and Uncle's cabin. This is always a favorite getaway for me. There is just something about taking your child to a place that holds such happy childhood memories for yourself. I spent many summer weekends at the cabin with my cousins and now Jace gets to enjoy making his own memories there with my cousin's children. It's great!

Here are all the cousins getting ready for bed...

It's Boogie's World!!

Welcome to the new blog!!! I let the old blog ( The Hawkins Family ) go a while back due to life sort of changing direction for our family. After some thought and serious persuasion from family and friends I have decided to get back to blogging. Obviously my favorite topic in the whole wide world is my precious, sweet, funny, rockstar of a son, so this blog will be all about him. A place where family and friends who don't get to see us everyday can keep up with his day to day life. His little world is changing so much lately that I hope I can keep up. I promise to try my best, I just ask for a little grace when I get behind on my blogging. =0)

Love and Blessings to all,
Boogie & Me (Anna aka Boogie's Mommy)
