Quick Trip to RoRo's

***Very Important Preface to our Sacramento fam and friends: Our last minute trip left us no wiggle room in our schedule to plan any visits with all of you that we love so much. We will be going back up in a few weeks and will have more time to plan and to visit. Jace and I will definitely be trying to see everyone on that next trip. =0)***

Last week one of my best friends, who recently moved to Sacramento, called with news that her Dr. felt she could go into labor at any time. Given the fact that her last labor lasted about 30 minutes and her hubby works an hour away, she was pretty nervous to be alone in a new town. I offered to go spend a couple days with her until her mom was scheduled to visit so that she could feel a little more at ease. This was win-win because I got to spend some time with her and Jace got to hang out with his buddy Gabriel, who he has been missing terribly.

We spent a fun morning at Wacky Tacky in Roseville. This place was crazy exciting for the boys. Lots of stuff to climb on, bounce in, slide down, and shoot! This is the super cool nerf gun ring. The boys got to climb into this cool pit to collect "ammo"...

...then shoot the balls out this air cannon! We could not pull them away from these things!

Jace got lots of quality time with one of his besties...

...And even managed to sneak in a quick trip to the Capitol Building
It was a bit of a whirlwind road trip, but we had a great time. I will admit that I was a little disappointed Baby Sofia didn't make her grand entrance on my watch, but I am SO excited to go back up when she is born to shoot her newborn pictures. =0)

SOCCER!!!

Not gonna lie, I am SUPER excited that I am officially a Soccer Mom. LOL! Jace had his very first soccer game on Saturday and I am really looking forward to the season. It was absolutely hysterical to watch 12 three year olds run around the soccer field chasing each other more than the ball itself. The very first score was made into the opposite team's goal, which seemed perfect given the chaos that is 3 year old soccer. I love it!

Seriously, I know I am biased, but how cute does my little man look!?

 My little kicker!!

Jace watches soccer with me on tv so his response to every practice kick into the net is "GOOOOOOOOALLLLL!"

Our very first game was against one of Jace's best friend's team. They were totally happy to see each other, but Jace didn't quite understand the whole opposing teams thing. When Marco stole the ball from Jace there were immediate tears and a super sad, "MOMMY! Marco is being mean!" As you can see they made up...

Clovis Fest

Every September the skies over Clovis fill with beautiful hot air balloons as Clovis Fest kicks off. We are lucky enough to live right in the path of the balloons and usually get up early and watch them float by from the comfort of our front yard. This year we decided it would be fun to go watch them fill up and take off. Super glad we did because the winds were taking the balloons the opposite direction of our house. We picked up our friends Nicci and Addie, grabbed some much needed Starbucks, and were at the launch site by 6:30am.

I adore this picture of Jace and Addie! It is totally going into the wedding slideshow when they get married!

Community Helper Day

Today was the annual Community Helper Day at Jace's preschool. It's a fun event where the kids get to learn about the different people that help in the community. This year there was a fire truck, police car, Highway Patrol car, and a police motorcycle. We invited his friend Addie to join us this year too, since she LOVES firetrucks. Unfortunately I got no pictures of them together. =0( Jace was super excited to go, but he turned into the grumpiest kid in the universe as soon as we started our rounds. Such is life with a 3 year old. =0)

Here is my little grump sitting in the back of the fire truck. The firefighters talked to the kids about fire safety and showed them the different equipment that they use.

Jace got to "drive" the police car. This improved his mood a teeny bit. lol

Then a SUPER nice CHP officer let Jace get on his motorcycle AND wear his cool sunglasses. This was the happiest my child has been all morning so I am very thankful to this man! lol.

Smackers for God!

As I was getting Jace ready for bed tonight we were winding down and chatting about God. I read Jace 1 Thessalonians 5:16 {Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is Gods will for you in Christ} and was explaining to him what it meant. I told him that God wants for us to be happy, that He wants us to talk to Him about anything and everything, and to be thankful for our life even when it is hard. I told him that God does so much for us to be thankful for. He got a puzzled look on his face and asked, "like what?" so I listed some of the things God did for us today: gave us healthy bodies to run and play, gave us time to spend with friends and family, and gave us a beautiful day to enjoy. Jace looks up at me and says, "I just want to give him a big ol' smacker on the lips cause He sure does love me!" My heart just melted! I sometimes think that he is still too little to really grasp things, but this kiddo gets it. He gets it more than a lot of adults I know!
